Semiahmoo Thursday Evening - Birch Bay On The 4th

Okay, maybe perfect isn't the perfect word to use for our perfect weather...but is has been perfect.

Last night about 6:00 we got the itch...we had to go to the beach.

We drove over to Semiahmoo, to the east side of the spit, took the shoes off and went into the water and walked the beach.

The water temperature was...perfect, tide was in.

Walking on the east side of the spit the views were all the way from White Rock, Canada to Mount Baker and the Twin Sisters.  The evening sky was crystal clear, almost no wind and the waves were small.

We walked the beach for about few hours, then went to the west side of the spit and watched the sun go down.

Yes, it was beyond your wildest dreams.

The breeze on the west side was a little stronger, the waves were about two feet.  It doesn't get much better.  Just sat and listened to the waves crashing the beach, enjoyed the cool breeze, watched the sun go down.

Sitting there I had to think about the traffic jams occuring right then in LA, Phoenix...you get the picture!

Don't forget July 4th, sundown, Birch Bay.  The best fireworks display this side of...and it is totally FREE!

I had to smile when I read the Seattle Times today.  They had an article about people being turned away at the Gas Works Park in Seattle.  Too many people.  Hmmm, let me see here:  no traffic jams, fresh air, the best free fire works around.  What am I missing.

We live in a beautiful area.
